The country's move echoes a global trend towards legalizing recreational cannabis, impacting over half a billion people. Germany initially planned a commercial market like Canada's but revised it to comply with international and EU laws. This shift towards "legalization-lite" mirrors reforms in Czech Republic and Luxembourg, influenced by Malta's non-commercial model.
24.00% of the adult population are current smokers. There are approximately 17.1 million current smokers in Germany 22.30% of men are current smokers but only 17.10% of women.
