Vapes most effective aid to quitting smoking, first-ever umbrella review finds

A recent review found vapes are effective aids for quitting smoking in most studies. Researchers from the University of Catania conducted an umbrella review comparing vapes to other methods. They concluded vapes are more effective than other treatments, with success rates around 10-12% at six months to one year. However, reporting biases were noted. Misconceptions about vaping's harm were highlighted by a UK survey, which showed 53% of vapers quit smoking. In the U.S., over half of successful quitters used vapes. The study aimed to bring clarity to the debate on vaping for smoking cessation.
