Time for a Concerted Push to Get Vapes in All Prisons

Tobacco harm reduction often overlooks prisons, despite their high number of affected people. Prison smoking bans extend to vaping, but legal arguments could allow vape use for prisoners. Encouraging safer nicotine practices could reduce health risks for inmates post-release. Implementing vapes has shown benefits in reducing violence and tobacco markets. A purposeful effort and Crossbar's success demonstrate the feasibility of such programs. Involving vape sales in funding educational programs could enrich prison environments. Overall, promoting vaping in prisons as a safer nicotine option requires advocacy, legal support, and collaboration among various stakeholders for harm reduction and societal benefits.
