The Cleveland Clinic's very bad advice
Smokers deserve better than advice that treats vaping as no different from cigarettes. While no nicotine product is risk-free, public health guidance should clearly distinguish between combustible tobacco and smoke-free alternatives that reduce exposure to toxicants. When trusted institutions blur that distinction, smokers may be discouraged from switching to lower-risk options. Accurate risk communication is not a concession to nicotine — it is a necessary part of reducing smoking-related harm.
