The CDC's 2023 survey shows record-low adult smoking rates, with only 12.1% smoking nationwide, down from 14% in 2022. Young adult smoking also dramatically decreased. Vaping among young adults rose by 90% from 2016 to 2023, while smoking rates fell by 63.8%, indicating a correlation. Despite positive trends, advocates continue to push for strict tobacco policies.
