Secondhand Vape Risk “Is Negligible”

A study by researchers at University College London and the SPECTRUM Consortium found that secondhand nicotine absorption risk from e-cigarette vapor in children is minimal compared to tobacco smoke. The study, funded by Cancer Research UK and published in JAMA Network Open, showed that exposure to harmful substances from e-cigarettes is much lower than from smoking. The research, based on data from 1,777 children in the US, indicated that indoor vaping around children should still be avoided due to exposure to some harmful substances. The findings suggest that concerns about secondhand vaping may be overstated, but caution is advised.
