RESPIRATORY EFFECTS OF ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE USE IN INDIVIDUALS WHO NEVER SMOKED: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW
A systematic review examined whether electronic cigarettes (ECs) pose respiratory risks to never-smokers, as existing studies are often influenced by cigarette use. Among ten studies analyzing respiratory symptoms and lung function, seven found no significant link between EC use and respiratory issues. However, some evidence suggested a possible association with mild coughing and wheezing, though results varied. No severe respiratory risks were identified, but further research with larger samples and long-term follow-ups is necessary to clarify potential effects.
