Plans to Ban Smoking Outside Schools and Hospitals
The government has announced plans to make it illegal to smoke in children's playgrounds and outside schools and hospitals in England, with some places also becoming vape-free. In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, it is already an offence to smoke on NHS hospital grounds.
12.90% of the adult population are current smokers. There are approximately 7.2 million current smokers in United Kingdom 14.60% of men are current smokers but only 11.20% of women.
