Ministry highlights hidden dangers of e-cigarettes, shisha and HTPs

The Ministry of Health has raised concerns about the growing use of e-cigarettes, shisha, and heated tobacco products (HTPs) among young people, highlighting their severe health risks, especially for adolescents. Despite being marketed as safer alternatives to traditional smoking, these products are harmful and have been banned due to their significant physical and mental health dangers. The ministry emphasized that these products increase addiction risk and contain harmful substances such as nicotine, heavy metals, volatile organic compounds, and carcinogens. E-cigarettes, particularly popular among teenagers due to their colorful designs and fruity flavors, are not safe. Their chemicals can damage the lungs, increase cancer risks, and harm adolescent brain development.
