MEPs finalise resolution to extend smoking and vaping bans in public places
MEPs from various political groups in the European Parliament are finalizing a joint resolution urging member states to extend public smoking bans to include heated tobacco, e-cigarettes, and other aerosol-emitting products. The resolution proposes restrictions in outdoor areas such as restaurants, workplaces, healthcare and educational facilities, transport hubs, and recreational areas. It also calls on the European Commission to study the risks of secondhand exposure to aerosols and combat the black-market sale of vaping products, with support from the EU4Health programme. The resolution will be debated on 27 November and voted on the following day.
