Italy Again Labels CBD as Narcotic, Defies EU Law

In defiance of a regional court ruling and European Union law, the Italian government has classified CBD as a narcotic drug. This contradicts a prior court ruling based on EU law. The Ministry of Health cites Italian drug legislation, while previously banning CBD, only to retract the order. The government also tried to classify hemp as solely medicinal, but the decree was annulled for breaching EU law by the Regional Administrative Tribunal of Lazio following lawsuits by cannabis associations.
