FDA Issues Over 100 Warning Letters for Vape Sales

The FDA issued warning letters to 115 retailers for selling unauthorized e-cigarette products like Geek Bar and Elf Bar. Retailers have 15 days to respond to violations. The FDA and Department of Justice have formed a task force to combat illegal e-cigarette distribution. The FDA only allows 34 authorized e-cigarette products in the U.S. Federal efforts focus on preventing unauthorized e-cigarettes from entering the country. Compliance with tobacco laws is closely monitored under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. The FDA takes enforcement actions, including seizures and penalties, against violators. Retailers must correct violations promptly to avoid further actions.
