Experts Recommend Physicians Use Vape to Help Smokers Quit

Doctors are often the first trusted voice a smoker hears when trying to quit. If evidence supports vaping as a cessation aid, clinicians should be able to discuss it honestly rather than avoid the subject because of stigma. The goal is not to promote nicotine use, but to help people move away from combustible tobacco when other methods have not worked. Smoking cessation advice should reflect the full range of evidence-based options available to adults.
