Brazil does not need another lesson in fear. It needs a serious conversation about evidence, risk and what happens when safer nicotine products are pushed out of legal reach. Education should help people understand why smoking is uniquely dangerous and how non-combustible alternatives differ from cigarettes. Without that clarity, policy can end up defending the very product it claims to defeat.
12.00% of the adult population are current smokers. There are approximately 20.1 million current smokers in Brazil 15.70% of men are current smokers but only 8.50% of women.
