Debunking the science used to push for prohibition | #GFN26 Workshop

Bad evidence can become powerful when it is used to justify prohibition. Studies with weak methods, selective comparisons or inflated claims can shape policy long after their limitations are forgotten. That matters in nicotine regulation, where fear-based science can make lower-risk products look more dangerous than they are and keep smokers away from switching. Public health should challenge poor evidence before it becomes law.
