Vapes have no significant impact on lung function, new CoEHAR umbrella review finds

A recent umbrella review by CoEHAR found no short or medium-term respiratory impact from vaping, regardless of usage patterns. Led by Dr. La Rosa, Prof. Polosa, and Dr. O'Leary, the analysis of 12 systematic reviews noted no significant changes in lung function across different user categories. Acute studies suggest no respiratory variations in the short or medium term, but longitudinal data is lacking. Despite limitations in study quality and inconsistencies in past research, vaping is not associated with notable respiratory changes. This study builds on previous CoEHAR research indicating no increase in respiratory symptoms from vaping, specifically among non-smokers.
