The American Lung Association is calling for an increased effort in the prevention of tobacco and e-cigarette use among Hawaiʻi’s youth. The call to action comes after a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report showed elevated vaping numbers among Hawaiʻi’s youth. The CDC data shows that more than half of all Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander high school students have ever tried e-cigarettes while 45 percent of middle school Pacific Islanders have said the same.
