The UK Vaping Industry Association, in partnership with leading think tanks and pressure groups, has sent a letter to the chancellor and secretary of state for health regarding rumours that government is considering imposing a ‘sin tax’ on vaping. The letter raises six concerns about the reported ‘vape tax’ and highlights the international pressures that would impact the consumers. The letter is signed by the Institute of Economic Affairs, the Adam Smith Institute, Centre for Policy Studies, The Freedom Association, The Tax Payers’ Alliance, the New Nicotine Alliance.
